Stamps, Ink & Paper!

SIP – or Stamps, Ink & Paper.  It's the basic list of what you need to make a handmade card!  When I was a brand-new stamper, card-maker & Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I made this card below.  I didn't have many tools or accessories yet… just the stamps, ink & paper that came in my demonstrator starter kit!  I didn't even use Stampin' Dimensionals on this card! GASP!

GreetingsGalore-TY-10.06
Keeping in mind that nearly everything I used for this card (except Blender Pens, Whisper White card stock & Basic Black ink) is now retired Stampin' Up! product, here is the "ingredient" list:

Card stock: YoYo Yellow, Green Galore, Gable Green, Whisper White

Stamp Set: Greetings Galore

Ink: Basic Black, YoYo Yellow, Green Galore

Tools & Accessories: Blender Pen, my fingers for tearing!

I hope you enjoy this card project! It brought a smile to my face when I found this card in my stash. My stamping and card-making have come a LONG way in the last 5+ years.  Everyone starts somewhere… let me help YOU get started.  It's so much FUN!

Contact me and I'll help you find the right combination of Stamps, Ink & Paper!

Awash with Flowers Birthday Card

Awash With Flowers square card
This lovely square-shaped card features two-step stamping, the faux suede technique, and using your own handwriting on a card!

Two-step stamping simply refers to a stamp set where there is usually a background image, then you stamp over it with a secondary image.  The set Awash with Flowers (W117062)(C120549) fits this category.  However, in this card, two-step stamping refers to stamping the flowers and then the stems for 2 steps!

To make the Old Olive square behind my stamped piece look like suede, I took a piece of card stock and crumpled it up, over and over, until it became very soft.  Then I carefully pulled the card stock apart until I had two pieces.  The inside looks a bit like suede when you do this.  It's a nice and simple technique!

Finally, I know it's unusual to write your sentiment on your card, but why? It's great if you don't have quite the right sentiment or if you simply want a more personalized card.  Afterall, if we aren't afraid to journal in our scrapbooks, we should be just fine writing on our cards!

Scallop Square Butterfly Card

Scallop Square Butterfly Strength & Hope Card

Hello, crafty friends! I realized that I hadn't yet posted this shaped card that I made a while ago for a card swap.  This card is made using the Scallop Square Die for the Big Shot die-cutting machine.  The main reason I wanted to post this card TODAY, however, is that the stamp set I used is only available through August 31!  The stamp set is in the Summer Mini catalog, which ends Wednesday.  The stamp set featured on this card is called Strength & Hope, and part of the proceeds from the sale of this set go to support breast cancer research – so I hope you will consider ordering this lovely stamp set, sold for a great cause!

Stamp Sets: Strength & Hope (W118100)(C123660), Thank You Kindly (111700)

Card Stock/Paper: Daffodil Delight (119683), Brights Stack (117155)-I used Tangerine Tango here

Ink/Coloring Tools: VersaMark Pad (102283), Tangerine Tango Classic Ink (105216)

Tools & Accessories: Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (113439), Bigz Clear Scallop Square (115950) & Scallop Square Duo (120903), Heat Tool (100005), Butterfly Punch (119848), 3/16 Corner Rounder Punch (119871), Clear Embossing Powder (109130), SNAIL Adhesive (104332), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430), Mini Glue Dots (103683)

Please contact me if you would like step-by-step instructions on this card, or if you would like to order any of the supplies, especially the Strength & Hope stamp set!  You can also order from me online (anytime!)by clicking the SHOP NOW button on my blog.
